Duration - 45 Classes (3 hr. per session)

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is a global test for proficiency in English language accepted in most countries. It is conducted by three reputed international organization- British council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge ESOL. It tests the four language skills: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. You can choose from two types of tests Academic or General depending on whether you want to study, work or migrate. The results are graded on the IELTS 9 band scale.


IELTS test is divided into two Modules, Academic and General Training:-


{1.} Academic: is for candidates who wish to study at tertiary level in English-speaking countries.


{2.} General: is for candidates who wish to pursue high school studies or Less Linguistically demanding courses or wish to immigrate to Australia or New Zealand.


IELTS King offers a preparation course for IELTS and its purpose is to give students the background knowledge, techniques, disciplined environment and practice materials in the prescribed format to enable them to get acceptable scores on the test.


Course Details:

There are four sub-modules Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. ALL candidates take the same Listening and speaking modules. Academic Module candidates take the Academic Reading and the Academic Writing module, while General Training candidates take the General Reading module and the General Writing module.

Overview

Recipients will receive a 25% reduction in their student contributions (tuition fees) for their first year of study into their chosen program, up to a maximum of two semesters or eight courses. Students will be automatically assessed when applying for an eligible program.

Scholarship criteria

The International Merit Scholarship will be awarded to selected international students who meet the following criteria.
  •  Be a prospective international student
  •  Be eligible to study in Australia
  •  Not have accepted any other UniSA scholarship or bursary
  •  Have achieved the UniSA equivalent of a credit average in previous studies
  •  Meet normal program admission requirements for the program applied into
  •  Apply for, and accepted into, an eligible undergraduate (Bachelor's Degree) or postgraduate (Masters by coursework) program offered at UniSA

Scholarship conditions

  •  International Merit Scholarship recipients will be required to be enrolled on a full-time basis at UniSA’s South Australian campuses
  •  Scholarship payments (25% of tuition fees) will be provided as a discount on successful applicants’ student contribution invoice (tuition fee) at the commencement of each applicable study period in the first year of study
  •  The scholarship applies to the first year of study only, up to a maximum of two semesters or eight courses (36 units)
  •  As a recipient of the scholarship, I am not entitled to receive any credit/RPL/Advanced Standing (whether at the time of offer or subsequently)
  •  The scholarship cannot be deferred

International Merit Scholarships are NOT available to:

  •  Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia
  •  Sponsored students (foreign government or Australian government)
  •  Students studying in Diplomas, Graduate Diplomas, Graduate Certificates, Associate Degrees and Research Degrees

We provide AU$5000 annually towards your tuition fees for the length of the course (AU$2500 is credited against your tuition fees each semester).

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
  • Be a citizen of India.
  • Have applied for undergraduate or postgraduate coursework through a registered Macquarie University agent IELTS King application system.
  • Have met the University's academic and English requirements for the course offered at Macquarie University.
  • Commence study in the session and year indicated in your scholarship letter of offer. Commencement may not be deferred.
  • Commence your Bachelor or Master degree program in 2018 Session 2 onwards, or articulate from MUIC to your degree program from 2019 Session 1 onwards.
Important notes:
  • You're not eligible if you are a citizen of Australia or New Zealand, or hold permanent residency of Australia.
  • Students who are on an English-packaged course are eligible for this scholarship if they commence their course in 2018 or 2019.
  • You're not eligible if you have received any other Macquarie University scholarship (which may include the UAC Scholarship) for this course of study, unless you have been advised otherwise by a representative of the university.
  • To remain eligible for this scholarship, you must stay enrolled in your original approved course of study and pass all units within the course.

Who Is Eligible?
International Entrance Scholarships are automatically awarded, with no application required, to non-Canadian citizens who are entering Lakehead University from a recognized high school curriculum or who are transferring from an international college or university. The scholarship is available to the top international high school students applying to Lakehead University for 2018-2019.
How and When are Entrance Scholarship Offers Made?
Entrance Scholarship averages are awarded based on the Canadian equivalent of your average used for admission consideration. Scholarship Offers will be on-going. A limited number of International Entrance Scholarships are available. International students considering Lakehead University are encouraged to apply to the University early in order to be considered for the two Entrance Scholarship rounds. 
Is my Scholarship Renewable?
Yes - Students awarded an International Entrance Scholarship valued at $5,000/year and greater may renew their entrance scholarship provided the minimum academic requirements are met.  Renewable International Entrance Scholarships will be paid at the rate received, either $7,500 or $5,000, and are available for a maximum of 4 years.  Students must maintain a minimum 80% average in each academic year, according to the terms found in the Scholarship Offer.  A normal full course load is required in each year of study.
No - Students awarded an International Entrance Scholarship of $4,000 are non-renewable, and are a one-time payment.
Can my entrance scholarship be applied to my academic English program costs?
No. Your Entrance Scholarship will be applied to your first year tuition to an undergraduate degree program once you have successfully completed Lakehead University's Academic English Program.
